Wrinkles are creeping up around my eyes and forehead and redness around my nose. For someone who has never been a big makeup wearer, this has been tough. Enter Paula's Choice 2% BHA. This product is vegan and doesn't test on animals, so I was anxious to give it a try.
<img src="http://img.bzzagent.com/image/paulaschoice_bha2.jpg?Type=activity&Activity=6704834148&Uid=2138553&token=a601e7700d2a116eb0bfc4120a6f2cea" alt=""/>
<p>When I was first offered this product with a cult following, I was excited to see what all the excitement and love was about. Paula's Choice 2% BHA is different than others on the market because of it's unique formulation at the exact pH level necessary for penetrating pores. Instead of boring you with chemistry, I'll just remind you why it's SO important to exfoliate at EVERY age. Failure to exfoliate can lead to dull, dry, flaky skin, which in turn can cause clogged pores, pimples, white heads and even an uneven skin tone! Maybe, you could cover all that up with makeup, bu why would you want to do that if you could fix the problem?
<p>Paula's Choice 2% BHA has the right ingredients and is strong enough to restore your skin's healthy natural balance. When you gently rid your skin of built-up skin cells, you can reverse clogged pores, stop breakouts, smooth wrinkles and even eliminate dry skin. Users of this product have experienced: smoother skin, the elimination of dry, rough patches and the fading of sun damage including wrinkles! Sign me up!!
<p>I've done a simply awful job at taking care of myself with two little ones to take care of. Their needs are always my priority. Paula's Choice offers a simple easy add-on to my face washing routine, which I was told would bring amazing results.
<p>At first, I didn't love the product. My face felt greasy and a few ugly red pimples popped up. I was ready to give up, but kept up and I'm glad I did. It must've been something in the product pushing the impurities out of my skin, because my skin is no longer greasy, but soft. I began noticing my pores were less noticeable and best of all - that ugly redness under my nose was reduced to almost unnoticeable!
<p>So, you're still skeptical? What if I had a coupon for 20% off your entire order at <a href="http://www.paulaschoice.com/">Paula's Choice</a>? I do! Just enter
<b>PRBHA2016</b> at checkout for 20% off your total order! I can't wait to hear what you think!
<p>Disclaimer: I have received this product for free in return for my use and review, however, all opinions are my own.

My baby girl has arrived and being a momma to two littles has kept me so busy! Add to that we moved into our new home and whoa! what a year! We are finally settling and I'm excited to get back and share some new things!!Noah's Mommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17040453969637423272noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019470247311438236.post-27448928962442516922015-05-19T12:02:00.001-07:002015-05-19T14:31:00.380-07:00Citrus Lane May 2015 6 mo old baby girl box review<p>Our discounted subscription period ended on a decent note. I thought the boxes were pretty good this month and really liked the dress received in the older girl boxes. Sadly my still unborn daughter aged to 6 months didn't receive the cute dress. I've decided against renewing for many reasons, but I will say that Citrus Lane took a step in the right direction with this month's box. It appears, for the most part, Citrus Lane tried to theme this box with things a child could enjoy in the summer.
<p>The box arrived undamaged this month. YAY!!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcaksp4yI8i3ea24XjqkXtcRHte6siXFcCjcepa55FW_cSij68DXRkOkuvlpCSCCjFW75C6uqqDudoMRvwsFLikCQIiZSFP3lx0Pj62ZA4v1t2yTRtflsYDgKNPjR6xtwi2KuNeWdvawqT/s1600/IMG_0822.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcaksp4yI8i3ea24XjqkXtcRHte6siXFcCjcepa55FW_cSij68DXRkOkuvlpCSCCjFW75C6uqqDudoMRvwsFLikCQIiZSFP3lx0Pj62ZA4v1t2yTRtflsYDgKNPjR6xtwi2KuNeWdvawqT/s320/IMG_0822.JPG" /></a></div>
It looks like Citrus Lane decided to do away with their signature yellow tissue and Citrus Lane sticker (at least for this month). The box looks neatly packed though.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjf0ALHODbK76nzjX-_DFaDFzrfFkH_9cL9vBAlxRGredg_EviR42pWD3IRld3etyPzjRJ2DsLiY2Fr9sb6eVjNT1T7N8-MLhPDX7VqGmvUh95KNHOgEzuEaHPKxq3RqGn4vOFBY17Jarm/s1600/IMG_0823.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjf0ALHODbK76nzjX-_DFaDFzrfFkH_9cL9vBAlxRGredg_EviR42pWD3IRld3etyPzjRJ2DsLiY2Fr9sb6eVjNT1T7N8-MLhPDX7VqGmvUh95KNHOgEzuEaHPKxq3RqGn4vOFBY17Jarm/s320/IMG_0823.JPG" /></a></div>
The first visible portion of the box was the card detailing the contents for May:

A coupon for 20% off any additional Tea brand clothing purchase and an advertisement for Care.com (owners of Citrus Lane) was included:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEEWT2taWVL8h7GMGttA3ois70QX76eVAAnYl3HdHcRjqz5FYmD9u5lTmuPMqFC3wRuCG3wPpcFPjqgjAYGmBauScVSvAP1ixsxDIVVbjQRw8XUqsh6it7m-563pc2-uxUPxOTKhtbVgqz/s1600/IMG_0825.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEEWT2taWVL8h7GMGttA3ois70QX76eVAAnYl3HdHcRjqz5FYmD9u5lTmuPMqFC3wRuCG3wPpcFPjqgjAYGmBauScVSvAP1ixsxDIVVbjQRw8XUqsh6it7m-563pc2-uxUPxOTKhtbVgqz/s320/IMG_0825.JPG" /></a></div>
First up, a tank top body suit from Tea Company. Ugh...I was so excited when I heard I'd be receiving a Tea item. Baby girl already owns quite a few pieces and I'm a big fan (her dad is too), but I don't love anything about this piece. AT. ALL.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIGJk_U9AHAOz6hXPCUQywL-6N4eJh4CtuEVw_jtpKJoVww_CFzJwWVZ8zeaJ6GhiIGawFDzf2ouPxL2hzBC1Ell_W16qZStlx4iWAQOqcGFXVxH1XO9y8OltQui7P6iZZR39qBfDKATQD/s1600/IMG_0826.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIGJk_U9AHAOz6hXPCUQywL-6N4eJh4CtuEVw_jtpKJoVww_CFzJwWVZ8zeaJ6GhiIGawFDzf2ouPxL2hzBC1Ell_W16qZStlx4iWAQOqcGFXVxH1XO9y8OltQui7P6iZZR39qBfDKATQD/s320/IMG_0826.JPG" /></a></div>
<p> The <a href="http://www.teacollection.com/product/5m32133/bodysuit-for-baby-girls-aditi-tank-bodysuit.html#pink tulip">Tea Aditi tank bodysuit</a> with floral print retails for $16.50 on the brand's website. All Tea fashion is globally inspired and this particular print was inspired by India. A nice bonus is that it's a "give back" item, so a portion of the item's sales will be donated to a Tea charity.
<p>A Crocodile Creek 5" playground ball was the next item. This is a cute ball. I think that our little lady will enjoy this as she grows...if we can keep it from big brother in the meantime. According to the item description, the ball is made from rubber and contains none of the nasty BPA, PVC or vinyl found in other similar style balls.

<p>We have received Goodbyn snack containers from Citrus Lane in the past and I'd like to say that I used them, but I didn't. In fact, I'm pretty sure when we unpack from our move, we will find that container with tags still attached in some box of miscellaneous items. Other snack containers received from Citrus Lane were much more useful. I do like that this is purple, since little sister will be getting so many hand me downs from her brother and maybe I will find it more useful now that I have two kids to pack for?

<p>Finally, a sample of cleaning pods was included. One each of three of Vaska's cleaning products was included in a small zip lock bag. The products included in our May box were: a dishwasher pod, a baby laundry pod and a laundry pod. The description on Amazon states that these products are clinically proven to remove stains as well as or better than competitors without leaving behind any residue, chemicals, etc. I'm always up for something more natural for my family and am a huge fan of brands like Method and Honest, so I look forward to trying these out.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9H-VO3ts17ptPqmRTcY-monNzTZL4GWbMUgxVREw0Vhkil5l_l3caiy0msLi4Jve110KnHb7Ys6PgudRRf1fr4vvVGUauZDeHiNR7Ue42wi8Tzb8L36-Hs3qkhvCN0BYgKs52nljCnBat/s1600/IMG_0830.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9H-VO3ts17ptPqmRTcY-monNzTZL4GWbMUgxVREw0Vhkil5l_l3caiy0msLi4Jve110KnHb7Ys6PgudRRf1fr4vvVGUauZDeHiNR7Ue42wi8Tzb8L36-Hs3qkhvCN0BYgKs52nljCnBat/s320/IMG_0830.JPG" /></a></div>
The per unit value of these is so low (.3-.38 per pod), I am just going to say $1. You can find the baby detergent <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Vaska-Laundry-Detergent-Tablet-Count/dp/B00HXBWB5Q/ref=sr_1_5?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1432061227&sr=1-5">here</a>, the laundry <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Vaska-Laundry-Detergent-Tablet-Scent/dp/B00HXBWB9M/ref=sr_1_3?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1432061227&sr=1-3">here</a> and the dishwasher pod <a href="http://www.amazon.com/vaska-Dishwasher-Detergent-Tablets-Scent/dp/B00W6GZYY8/ref=sr_1_3?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1430403351&sr=1-3&keywords=vaska+dish">here</a>. I noticed better prices than Amazon on other sites, so it may be best to look a bit before purchasing if you're interested in trying any of these products for yourself.
<p>The total value of the may box is $31.50. I feel this is a generous value as I believe you could find the ball for $5-8 in stores or other online retailers. You can purchase a Citrus Lane subscription here for $29 per month for a monthly subscription or as low as $24/month if you purchase a 6 month plan. Citrus Lane is always running specials through Groupon or their website, so if you are interested in trying this box for your child(ren) I would suggest seeking out the specials and waiting until you see a good one.
<p>We had some ups and downs with Citrus Lane during our three year off and on use of the company's monthly box subscription and store. I can't say we will never subscribe again, but I am definitely "over it". I can't wait to provide my review of a new subscription box for Applecheeks diapers in June!! Applecheeks has paired with a mom owned small company to create one of a kind items available only through The Baby Bum. The monthly subscription is so popular that it's selling out and the owner is capping the number of orders she will take. I was really lucky to get in before the wait list begins. Check back in June, but in the meantime you can check out the Baby Bum Bundle <a href="http://www.thebabybum.com/category-s/1861.htm">here</a>! I have read many terrible things about their service, but have been very fortunate in all of my interactions. Unfortunately, I have had to contact Citrus Lane customer service FAR too frequently regarding issues with both mystery boxes and subscription boxes. Without further ado, the April 2015 5 month old girl review.
<p>Please note all values were derived from Amazon.com unless the item was not for sale on the site, in which case the source will be noted.
<p>My poor box was demolished this month. Am I exaggerating? Well, a special post office van pulled into my driveway to hand deliver it. I've never had that happen before. Below you can see for yourself.

<p>Sadly the box was open to the outside and it has been raining like crazy around me, so of course a few items were damaged. Citrus Lane customer service offered to ship out replacements for the two damaged items and I will update with the items once they have been received.
<p>Inside the box was the normal cheery yellow tissue paper and Citrus Lane sticker wrapping the contents of the box.

<p>A card detailing this month's contents was included.

<p> The first item in the box was the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Green-Toys-Twist-Teether-Toy/dp/B004KT82AM">Green Toys Twist Teether</a> I'm a big fan of Green Toys products and we have quite a few things from the brand. Green Toys products are made from recycled milk containers and are free from BPA, PVC phthalates and coatings. Bonus: they are made in the USA AND dishwasher safe. Unfortunately, this is a repeat item and we already have it from a previous box. Value: $10.90.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMmRU20IcoakdzFj4MNPgjj9sloOZRzTefeV56rxjzsXyE5xGW1yjtpyj_EpD9WshAf9aTiqn1lDx7Z6xP6P8maSFKGWV6N9JXNerWKU9ZmjjmT4bvhP_d9cu5pnHftS6wcDUxpi1Zzqh0/s1600/IMG_0351.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMmRU20IcoakdzFj4MNPgjj9sloOZRzTefeV56rxjzsXyE5xGW1yjtpyj_EpD9WshAf9aTiqn1lDx7Z6xP6P8maSFKGWV6N9JXNerWKU9ZmjjmT4bvhP_d9cu5pnHftS6wcDUxpi1Zzqh0/s320/IMG_0351.JPG" /></a></div>
<p> The second item is a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/North-American-Bear-Shake-Rattle/dp/B00IX6AA62">Bake N Shake Donut Rattle</a> from North American Bear Company. This rattle is pretty cute and I'd love for my little girl to play with it. My son took it right out of the box and played with it for a bit saying he was glad baby sister would have this toy. Per Amazon the donut rattles are sold in a set of three for $29, so the value here is $9.67.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC8-mNQzyybJP2yG_EZrtDRGxiZB54o0FmeuOS7Vgn5xcjRY5nK8Ox4H7TAfOB60hUwAujZ4_k0ap36oYwyw1UiHaIFJc8yM27EUILZ8HLB2xYMMO5cEC-JkOiH5U6ww_WJQSY0VLqGTIq/s1600/IMG_0350.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC8-mNQzyybJP2yG_EZrtDRGxiZB54o0FmeuOS7Vgn5xcjRY5nK8Ox4H7TAfOB60hUwAujZ4_k0ap36oYwyw1UiHaIFJc8yM27EUILZ8HLB2xYMMO5cEC-JkOiH5U6ww_WJQSY0VLqGTIq/s320/IMG_0350.JPG" /></a></div>
<p> Next, a book from Barefoot Books - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Clare-Beatons-Garden-Rhymes-Beaton/dp/1782850813/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1429221042&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=Garden+Rhymes+barefoot+books">Garden Rhymes</a>. Citrus Lane has been partnering with Barefoot Books since my son's subscription and I'm really not a fan, but it is a cute spring themed book filled with some less common nursery rhymes and I'm certain we will enjoy reading it to both of our children. Value: $5.76.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglqJPRWqw8JzXhUZMubd9zAmywx1R4PlDIGIkA7QDGEejkH0Kun8-8MBqkO5YmjSQizUTA6Ba0J1i8ka2Ta0dEiOob2zXvdUQEn1w-Dlc7e7xnhuNdqLKmdfDuuUiFEzqekExP6O1kc0DA/s1600/IMG_0352.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglqJPRWqw8JzXhUZMubd9zAmywx1R4PlDIGIkA7QDGEejkH0Kun8-8MBqkO5YmjSQizUTA6Ba0J1i8ka2Ta0dEiOob2zXvdUQEn1w-Dlc7e7xnhuNdqLKmdfDuuUiFEzqekExP6O1kc0DA/s320/IMG_0352.JPG" /></a></div>
<p> Lastly, we received a 3.4oz bottle of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Snuggly-Lotion-Travel-Babytime-Liquid/dp/B00K96CHEW/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1429221257&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=snuggly+lotion+3.4">Snuggly Lotion</a> from Episencial. We have received this item in the past and enjoyed the scent. Unfortunately, it wasn't moisturizing enough for my son's super dry skin. Value: $5.65.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpu-Fi3yJ0kHmZoxbc89H89wQvekwxUIm53W6_TLZKK5aSeGw_KhF8XxWaiLpzwhBzJ1u72MBDAwt9ZbxjXqfpeZ_EMfuSpeV6tYf8egDUTvDETx-om69IDrF0NTzoftjFGy_KWQQcKpn9/s1600/IMG_0349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpu-Fi3yJ0kHmZoxbc89H89wQvekwxUIm53W6_TLZKK5aSeGw_KhF8XxWaiLpzwhBzJ1u72MBDAwt9ZbxjXqfpeZ_EMfuSpeV6tYf8egDUTvDETx-om69IDrF0NTzoftjFGy_KWQQcKpn9/s320/IMG_0349.JPG" /></a></div>
<p>I won't include the final item in the overall value of the box, because I feel that items which require you to spend additional money shouldn't be included since not everyone may be interested. A coupon allowing you to purchase a one year membership for $29 (a value of $90) from a company called <a href="http://www.yogadownload.com/">YogaDownload.com</a>. The info card states the site grants members access to more than 600 classes ranging from 10-90 minutes and for beginner - advanced, pre-natal, post-natal, kids, pilates, and much more. I would be tempted to try this, and I still may, but already I subscribe to DailyBurn and love it.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyBT7JqUME8oFVWJpi24Z0gxgSrlpMvwXsDuIF746qTaVVEeGVo3Cl97SUX7a7jHoZkQe7gG89SwX2kxrFz5K494FE9b1bpOkiFJQ6-vOKYvoh1gBHukfSUc5w401cbqHJG4ksQ3ev3I4z/s1600/IMG_0354.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyBT7JqUME8oFVWJpi24Z0gxgSrlpMvwXsDuIF746qTaVVEeGVo3Cl97SUX7a7jHoZkQe7gG89SwX2kxrFz5K494FE9b1bpOkiFJQ6-vOKYvoh1gBHukfSUc5w401cbqHJG4ksQ3ev3I4z/s320/IMG_0354.JPG" /></a></div>
<p>The final inclusion was an info card asking all subscribers to show their "Acts of Green" to win daily prizes. My son won this as a baby and we will definitely try to win again.
The total value of April's box was $32. A subscription to Citrus Lane currently ranges $29/mo or $25/mo for a six month subscription. This box certainly does not have the value I typically appreciate from Citrus Lane and mystery boxes in general. More troubling to me, is that so many of the products are repeats from prior boxes. It's almost as if Citrus Lane doesn't expect to keep subscribers long enough for this to be an issue. During our original subscription nearly three years ago, I LOVED that Citrus Lane introduced me to both new products and new brands on a very regular basis...the company made a point of doing so. Brands and products are so often repeated that it really detracts from the joy and original purpose of this subscription. I cannot wait for my little girl to arrive so that I can put these cute diapers on her little bum! I also love mystery boxes, so it was no surprise that I had to try a mystery cloth diaper package!
<p>Kelly's Closet (DiaperShops.com) offers one of the most popular versions of the cloth diaper themed mystery package - <a href="http://www.kellyscloset.com/Fluff-Fairy-Diaper-Packages--Ships-7-14-days-from-ordering-Available-once-a-month_p_4893.html">Fluff Fairy</a>. It sells out each month and QUICKLY (within hours or the first day at the latest)! The mystery bundle always includes a cloth diaper and additionally includes samples or other cloth diapering related products. The cost varies each month based upon what is included in the mystery bundle, but shipping is always free.
<p>This month was a SoftBums themed month, because all items received were from that brand. I have only begun building my stash, so I'm very excited to add new brands and types of cloth to try.
<p>Here's the unwrapping:
<p> The package arrived in a mailer, but inside was packaged in blue tissue with a cute Fluff Fairy sticker
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqPjF66xLTABr07WpqYJp8j0i0LPXdDVrMKcXbJltTPbeAnQ2MuPTIGK4YdmEQZAjkPvKduMvSlmqmrJgHa6wv0urHR6Ym_HDk5Xd4qb8Ch63BVb6uVCFW6GcuCzYnCAoLv40psWr-CQZz/s1600/IMG_0255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqPjF66xLTABr07WpqYJp8j0i0LPXdDVrMKcXbJltTPbeAnQ2MuPTIGK4YdmEQZAjkPvKduMvSlmqmrJgHa6wv0urHR6Ym_HDk5Xd4qb8Ch63BVb6uVCFW6GcuCzYnCAoLv40psWr-CQZz/s320/IMG_0255.JPG" /></a></div>
<p>Inside the blue tissue was a sheet explaining what was included in this month's Fluff Fairy package:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQyQofmW-fxnWvjagt5wKYatEOiGfcjx1qJHLAvGw7LR1NWbaUdlIYLlXVp6guCsZ8quernD4qzP0Bk1jRpwR6h75dr5nGIDnD3aJu65ox7r6yShuQEqHB4j7O-pM-TmjQZ9nia8GbXIkj/s1600/IMG_0256.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQyQofmW-fxnWvjagt5wKYatEOiGfcjx1qJHLAvGw7LR1NWbaUdlIYLlXVp6guCsZ8quernD4qzP0Bk1jRpwR6h75dr5nGIDnD3aJu65ox7r6yShuQEqHB4j7O-pM-TmjQZ9nia8GbXIkj/s320/IMG_0256.JPG" /></a></div>
<p>At first glance, there was a cute diaper, a pad, a wipe and a keychain.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEtjIoCmdCmtDQmYA0V4wsmHNWvc8QeJD_LvjH8A_3YcSFieeDfJGuoG6gJG1fP6EMzS-r5SfQ6HVgs_aTRDKBrmnVQQX7Z6W9WmYz1u71vj0HjmCuJVsuE6gqbnjEX2jSqy1QJIAsB5AY/s1600/IMG_0257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEtjIoCmdCmtDQmYA0V4wsmHNWvc8QeJD_LvjH8A_3YcSFieeDfJGuoG6gJG1fP6EMzS-r5SfQ6HVgs_aTRDKBrmnVQQX7Z6W9WmYz1u71vj0HjmCuJVsuE6gqbnjEX2jSqy1QJIAsB5AY/s320/IMG_0257.JPG" /></a></div>
<p>This month's diaper is an <a href="http://www.kellyscloset.com/SoftBums-Omni-Pocket-Diaper-Bundle_p_4681.html">Omni bundle from SmartBums</a> and the one I was sent was the Bubblegum Aplix style. The bundle version of this diaper includes a large and a mini dry touch pod (or insert). I really like the color of this diaper and am excited to try a new brand and type of diaper. Although I haven't tried them yet, I am a little less than thrilled with aplix style diapers as I think they will fray easier in the wash. This bundle is also available in snap for the same cost. The retail value of the bundle is $26.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF0B1mxLFtCnd0DTx8HokD1KEfdA008W3s5DV9dQParNjzpbIosemv8Q3o7RVN3Q1NkBqMsEUc3CZXt404GvOT4LMiiuCobJeV9wNpbHinoSFyGhxmrnR5o7UJc8E6wEifdGJEGq30pwZx/s1600/IMG_0258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF0B1mxLFtCnd0DTx8HokD1KEfdA008W3s5DV9dQParNjzpbIosemv8Q3o7RVN3Q1NkBqMsEUc3CZXt404GvOT4LMiiuCobJeV9wNpbHinoSFyGhxmrnR5o7UJc8E6wEifdGJEGq30pwZx/s320/IMG_0258.JPG" /></a></div>
<p>The next item was more of a sample, but I'm excited to try it nonetheless. Below is a picture of one <a href="http://www.kellyscloset.com/SoftBums-H-Pods-Disposable-Inserts_p_5212.html">SoftBums H-Pod Disposable Insert</a> I like the idea of disposable inserts for when you just don't want to have dirty inserts lying around (traveling or leaving baby with someone not cloth friendly). The description states each insert has the absorption of a large pod, but in a super trim version. This is great to me because as the mother of someone that always wore disposables, I'm a little worried about "fluff butt" ALL the time. AND the best of the perks, these disposable liners are biodegradable. These inserts typically come in a 20 pack for $8, so the value is about $.40.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilwn5RkDx2hX52DsjEc8qRpMVzNkKvoxo1njYXfPBsLrk_txtd0VVLAfaCHvJW8xHNf50LHFtgNrp8yyguh1HS637uvGPy7QEiblst7KgoFprWAumV7tIO_dAv8g55KhzckmSEA4VCOyy-/s1600/IMG_0259.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilwn5RkDx2hX52DsjEc8qRpMVzNkKvoxo1njYXfPBsLrk_txtd0VVLAfaCHvJW8xHNf50LHFtgNrp8yyguh1HS637uvGPy7QEiblst7KgoFprWAumV7tIO_dAv8g55KhzckmSEA4VCOyy-/s320/IMG_0259.JPG" /></a></div>
<p> My first cloth wipe was also part of the bundle! I am looking forward to making some of these with the million receiving blankets we were gifted with our son, but it's nice to have one girly one and even better to have an example to follow as I attempt to DIY them! <a href="http://www.kellyscloset.com/SoftBums-Organic-Bamboo-Wipes-5-per-package_p_5237.html">Softbums Organic Bamboo baby wipes</a> are typically sold in a five pack for $9.25 for a value of $1.85.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdS3jgVHQH010gkvaa_btSwFBXciPj2MGLJG4tx0KZ42qeBunNIGv_fRtSRlCQQoxJ13LEwrRpfthYLGNpXej-w9najHb1VPlVKLQjmMSpxDdOw1FK1cwNWrPNSbEebn0WDg84ChJWTaFb/s1600/IMG_0260.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdS3jgVHQH010gkvaa_btSwFBXciPj2MGLJG4tx0KZ42qeBunNIGv_fRtSRlCQQoxJ13LEwrRpfthYLGNpXej-w9najHb1VPlVKLQjmMSpxDdOw1FK1cwNWrPNSbEebn0WDg84ChJWTaFb/s320/IMG_0260.JPG" /></a></div>
The final item was a bonus item: a SoftBums Panda Key Chain. This keychain is really cute and is soft, so I look forward to using it in my new car...I hate the thought of something heavy banging beneath my steering wheel and scratching up the interior. Although, I may have to fight my son for it, because he immediately confiscated it when I opened the package.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5wC4i7HBPn3NjXPMEZOahVEBRgP_zPUKaebf1K6cc50_7i4y34_mPudEsr9WMNiymhD6TS13DjrDrYb1j7kHlYx0ml9MfHNr4XGw9sxm1be2jR74UzCSj-DRlR9Dh90RcMu9YIaaXU8XX/s1600/IMG_0261.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5wC4i7HBPn3NjXPMEZOahVEBRgP_zPUKaebf1K6cc50_7i4y34_mPudEsr9WMNiymhD6TS13DjrDrYb1j7kHlYx0ml9MfHNr4XGw9sxm1be2jR74UzCSj-DRlR9Dh90RcMu9YIaaXU8XX/s320/IMG_0261.JPG" /></a></div>
My overall impression of my first Fluff Fairy is that it's a really fun monthly surprise. I think it's a great fit for someone like me who is new to cloth or a veteran that has serious brand loyalty and hasn't tried other products on the market. The cost of the March 2015 Fluff Fairy was $26.79 and the value of the package was $28.25. I am pleased with the value for what I spent and look forward to trying all the products when my little girl arrives (and is big enough).

I love it! While I haven't been selected for any of the big name products so far (they've sent beds, computers, printers, and other exciting things to some lucky reviewers) I have received quite a few day to day items that not only introduced me to new brands or products, but saved me the expense of buying things I use every day. Here are some links to reviews I have completed and at the bottom of the page is a link so that you can sign up too!

Gift with pre-sale purchaseSo, I don't post nearly often enough about being vegan and the absolute awesomeness of the journey my family has had so far, but I promise to do a better job...starting with this post!
There are SO many awesome vegan chefs and cooks who share their recipes all over the web, but my family's favorite (by far) is Dreena Burton. We LOVE every recipe we've ever made. One of the best things about Dreena's recipes (and believe me there are SO many wonderful things about them) is that she is a mother to three "weegans" (daughters) with busy hockey schedules. Why does this matter? Well, because her recipes are kid tested and made for busy families. Some vegan recipes are a far cry from either of these and that can make it tough to incorporate them into your family's life. Her newest book is due out in May and I couldn't be more thrilled! The book is called <a href="http://plantpoweredkitchen.com/plant-powered-families-cookbook/">Plant Powered Families</a> and is chock full of awesome recipes that have been tested on and loved by her family.
<p>We, of course, pre-ordered our copy and were thrilled when Dreena announced those who pre-purchase will receive a mini cookbook FREE (see bottom of page from link above)! I selected two of the yummy recipes to try: White Bean and Cauliflower Burgers and Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole. While, I must admit my 2.5 year old son would not try the Cheesy Cauliflower, my husband and I devoured the entire dish in one meal. The burgers were a hit with all of us and my husband has already requested them again! I can't wait to try the other recipes - especially the Banana Chocolate Chip Cake with Chocolate Mousse frosting!
Here's a picture of my version of the Cheesy Cauliflower (mine is not pretty, but so very tasty):

<p>So, why should you buy Dreena's awesome cookbook when there are so many recipes for free? Honestly, because the recipes are not difficult, they do not use crazy ingredients you can't find in your local store and they are SO delicious. You can thank me later! But, if you don't believe me, you can check out her blog with free recipes <a href="http://plantpoweredkitchen.com/recipe-page/">here</a>Noah's Mommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17040453969637423272noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019470247311438236.post-64349901112752312342015-03-21T14:41:00.001-07:002015-03-21T14:41:10.960-07:00Well! A new baby and a new adventure! I always felt so guilty throwing away diapers and thinking of all the landfill space I as filling, so with this baby and a lot of convincing with my husband, we are trying cloth diapering!!! I'm so excited! The prints are so fun and there are so many sites to swap, buy and discuss diapering! One of the first things I learned was that I needed to try multiple brands to determine what works best for me. I decided to stick with All In One (AIO) diapers for our newborn stash so that my husband was a little less stressed about the idea of cloth. From what I understand AIO are the most friendly to newbies and former disposable users since you don't have to deal with inserts or pre-folds or the like...it's just all included in one. However, that means you need more diapers because as soon as one is wet or soiled, into the diaper pail it goes.
<p>Today, I received my first "Fluff mail" from DiaperStore.com and I couldn't have been more excited!
<p>Here's a picture of my fluff mail AND it was all on sale!! Check out diaperstore.com to snag some of their winter sale items for yourself!
The package included a 5 pack of Thirsties AIO newborn diapers in their super cute Ocean print, a wet bag in "Whale Tail" and a diaper pail liner in Ocean grey:

For newbies like me here's a picture of the inside of an AIO and the outside. I think they are so cute! I can't wait to see them on my little lady's bum!

Of course, I went back to Citrus Lane because we loved it so much when my son was a baby. I decided to age up my unborn child because I typically don't find the newborn boxes to be as nice as the older boxes. This month's box arrived today (March 21st) in the normal Citrus Lane box. The box was a bit heavy, so I was really excited to open it! All values below were obtained from Amazon.com unless unavailable on that site and otherwise noted.
Here's what was inside:
Citrus Lane does a great job packaging their monthly boxes in cheery yellow tissue paper. The wrapping was a little sloppy this month and I am not surprised as I was told by a customer service rep that the company had recently changed shipping partners.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZEDjhJKHX9cxCCEt8M8X7-32k8qjDKuf5hfuWI3EJMouLevuac_DKODdtjPZnOGjQjf7g2lxSgOhAXHwl-24Is1X5VbD8_O3bdWTRh7JDor0iRLSqhZF1jScOusSksRhuQ88kWdpKXg5r/s1600/IMG_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZEDjhJKHX9cxCCEt8M8X7-32k8qjDKuf5hfuWI3EJMouLevuac_DKODdtjPZnOGjQjf7g2lxSgOhAXHwl-24Is1X5VbD8_O3bdWTRh7JDor0iRLSqhZF1jScOusSksRhuQ88kWdpKXg5r/s320/IMG_0002.JPG" /></a></div>
Inside the tissue was a card explaining the contents of the box:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4mUfc7Sy4wpy0kvZSmBx9FVkPQxz3Js8uNSssgwJ9MDUie61agfuilH_ZoVniDF9WOhSVlZFPoZOWnm9iwObAPLt4MitEQXh4JYw_wo4jkzqKYdY7g5heWGF7bsi485G5BCqlNz-V8NyE/s1600/IMG_0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4mUfc7Sy4wpy0kvZSmBx9FVkPQxz3Js8uNSssgwJ9MDUie61agfuilH_ZoVniDF9WOhSVlZFPoZOWnm9iwObAPLt4MitEQXh4JYw_wo4jkzqKYdY7g5heWGF7bsi485G5BCqlNz-V8NyE/s320/IMG_0008.JPG" /></a></div>
Well, to say I was disappointed would be a severe understatement. I did not use Johnson & Johnson products on my son and I don't plan to use them on my daughter. Judging by the hundreds of comments already on Citrus Lane's Facebook page, they will realize their partnership with J&J did some serious damage to their relationship with their customers.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrKc45d16mQiuJjSKCNblBf9Dcs127X77Ppo8xWvvv5O9K495skLEYuu1vTZQCykIZ6TGXXiw98jAsY7EIbuSLnXO7YqwkNjZRLDZFOHBaM1s5v1TSah291sXoAlKSZziU-i-4BHx698AU/s1600/IMG_0004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrKc45d16mQiuJjSKCNblBf9Dcs127X77Ppo8xWvvv5O9K495skLEYuu1vTZQCykIZ6TGXXiw98jAsY7EIbuSLnXO7YqwkNjZRLDZFOHBaM1s5v1TSah291sXoAlKSZziU-i-4BHx698AU/s320/IMG_0004.JPG" /></a></div>
Johnson & Johnson 9oz Head to Toe Wash: $6.45 and Johnson & Johnson 3oz Baby Bubble Bath: $2 (Walgreens.com)
<p> Next up is the Ubbi Tweat Snack Container:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOfFhpUlWp7-8YhYagx1xL2gsVJnR8oPvZJryL-4AFpCCaxjjT08gYDxx6OR6U4bz7Y9hPI2R41ktsU9U83_c2G32QffMoI8litqqvT1ZD6Y95MyqXTYGQMql_A-11ds4S0NzHdqV2lJYU/s1600/IMG_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOfFhpUlWp7-8YhYagx1xL2gsVJnR8oPvZJryL-4AFpCCaxjjT08gYDxx6OR6U4bz7Y9hPI2R41ktsU9U83_c2G32QffMoI8litqqvT1ZD6Y95MyqXTYGQMql_A-11ds4S0NzHdqV2lJYU/s320/IMG_00$2705.JPG" /></a></div>
This was one of the spoiler items that could appear in your box. I think we will get great use out of this item and it's bird design is really cute. I had a hard time finding the value for this item, but per the manufacturer's website it can be purchased for $10
<p>We love books (as I've said so many times before) so I'm always glad to receive one. Charle Harper's ABCs board book is no exception. I'm sure it'll get lots of use in our house.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNnMZLa9U321yiU9nGbJQF6PBv0HDgkoym71-VtY6AsLYxDziMJMUpeLa4x0rJehYov-EnWYqZOlaAxszCsRMc7oma4UTw6YuSoKmuGZkjvHKqO5KdxNcxUBz2jHGTqowdpSPZS6IcCPPM/s1600/IMG_0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNnMZLa9U321yiU9nGbJQF6PBv0HDgkoym71-VtY6AsLYxDziMJMUpeLa4x0rJehYov-EnWYqZOlaAxszCsRMc7oma4UTw6YuSoKmuGZkjvHKqO5KdxNcxUBz2jHGTqowdpSPZS6IcCPPM/s320/IMG_0006.JPG" /></a></div>
Charley Harper ABCs board book: $13.46
<p>Lastly, we received the Begin Again Earthworm Racer. I'm not sure about this for my baby girl, but I do like that it's all natural and safe if she places it in her mouth. The product description says that the toy assists your baby in developing motor skills as the toy twists, bends, stretches and rolls. It will be fun to see what she thinks of it!
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvW0366nM-PpQ3wGUpIunghT09Vme2-qZ6GbR3SG4ea69jIjG_GyvJWDJFLH7ZkOfN7hnWdQCUI4qWAyle0or5bMLDkKqTuuwPDNWxLTi4a0V_2f9-VcCuRgTcNsgWdOqQR8BVdw331R4h/s1600/IMG_0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvW0366nM-PpQ3wGUpIunghT09Vme2-qZ6GbR3SG4ea69jIjG_GyvJWDJFLH7ZkOfN7hnWdQCUI4qWAyle0or5bMLDkKqTuuwPDNWxLTi4a0V_2f9-VcCuRgTcNsgWdOqQR8BVdw331R4h/s320/IMG_0007.JPG" /></a></div>
Begin Again Earthworm Racer: The Racer's are currently priced between $4 and $15 depending on the color selected
<p>The total value of the March 2015 box was: $46.91 (if using the highest cost Racer).
<p>We purchased our mini-subscription as a Groupon, boxes normally cost $27/mo ($81 for a 3 month subscription), so the value is definitely there. Unfortunately, my personal opinion and what appears to be the opinion of many subscribers is that the contents and quality of the boxes have deteriorated over the past several months/year since the company was purchased by Care.com. Our subscription expires in May and at this time I don't think I will continue. BUT there are always new subscription boxes to try!! I'm anxious to take a break from kid boxes and try Petit Vour or Vegan Cuts or maybe some of the Fluff mail (cloth diaper) subscriptions. What are your favorites?Noah's Mommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17040453969637423272noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019470247311438236.post-22762825431656736932015-03-13T11:08:00.001-07:002015-03-21T14:18:01.439-07:00Citrus Lane Mystery Box March 2015 Girl 0-12 months ReviewCitrus Lane Mystery Boxes have been selling out so quickly lately I figured they must be amazing and I must be really missing out! So...I hurried to the site as soon as I received an email notifying me of the newly released boxes. I was able to snag the Tiny Love Mini Mobile box for 0-12 month girls. The value for each item was obtained from Amazon unless unavailable and otherwise noted.
The box arrived inside a larger box as I also ordered an Easter present for my son. Inside the larger box was a tiny Citrus Lane box.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMrE_8Eum7Lwqr8dr_0nLXQje35OrRY5T_1aSyf_TODpivorC1h89XKmZ-B8oO1_MvmQ4M3LhFnvRMaGpQJk-QE4gp5F5_D-PBByPM3jYb32vDirKrQFpdBobdR3sL_ZiXYWOddIk1bGiN/s1600/IMG_9936.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMrE_8Eum7Lwqr8dr_0nLXQje35OrRY5T_1aSyf_TODpivorC1h89XKmZ-B8oO1_MvmQ4M3LhFnvRMaGpQJk-QE4gp5F5_D-PBByPM3jYb32vDirKrQFpdBobdR3sL_ZiXYWOddIk1bGiN/s320/IMG_9936.JPG" /></a></div>
In the past, Citrus Lane boxes have come in beautiful packaging with yellow tissue paper wrapping the items and a Citrus Lane sticker holding the tissue together. Sadly, that was not the case with this Mystery Box.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8jjcX_Q_OUut0xyFWuYY5XvIWR-CO4QKHtIr4tAJqXlogKUvUBRhpZ1K1cRvCmx0kU3JLbA1bO-8oANxYrwurMd3sZ_hf1y0Gt_yZqzUwqOhn1j6acIEmdix4ag1PJyqcUVcxhEamSv9R/s1600/IMG_9937.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8jjcX_Q_OUut0xyFWuYY5XvIWR-CO4QKHtIr4tAJqXlogKUvUBRhpZ1K1cRvCmx0kU3JLbA1bO-8oANxYrwurMd3sZ_hf1y0Gt_yZqzUwqOhn1j6acIEmdix4ag1PJyqcUVcxhEamSv9R/s320/IMG_9937.JPG" /></a></div>
The first item in the box was an aden + anais security blanket in giraffe print:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYcFze5gzzqhvsMVRXaDuSi0akXuyw7pc0yaQICeOHuppHd2Rw4YPyFlPRvmlkghyyrqNvNWLr8MX1TYXAe98U-kMF-aGe9yknteHUaK9xImNM45YSd4RYdcK6KEtot6Bhhnxoc3dUnljb/s1600/IMG_9938.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYcFze5gzzqhvsMVRXaDuSi0akXuyw7pc0yaQICeOHuppHd2Rw4YPyFlPRvmlkghyyrqNvNWLr8MX1TYXAe98U-kMF-aGe9yknteHUaK9xImNM45YSd4RYdcK6KEtot6Bhhnxoc3dUnljb/s320/IMG_9938.JPG" /></a></div>
This item was not in packaging within the Mystery Box and according to Amazon is typically sold in a two pack. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/aden-anais-Security-Blankets-olivia/dp/B003IGTOMI"></a> Value $7.40.
<p>The next item was an Oball original style ball:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb9DqvhK75GI8ewjUMD1hTbpHGHUe1hgqNfzknRQlvb0OGMqOrZAKTusAKrUoFJC-H8_F27vNkOPjDdUoQpiWJTitaNP1Kt3L6VnFSUmMg_7cQiuiQkcTFyAUA_smRhYdeq8RWMR4L2stR/s1600/IMG_9939.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb9DqvhK75GI8ewjUMD1hTbpHGHUe1hgqNfzknRQlvb0OGMqOrZAKTusAKrUoFJC-H8_F27vNkOPjDdUoQpiWJTitaNP1Kt3L6VnFSUmMg_7cQiuiQkcTFyAUA_smRhYdeq8RWMR4L2stR/s320/IMG_9939.JPG" /></a></div>
My son had three of these and loved them, so I know this is a great baby gift. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Rhino-Toys-Oball-Original-Colors/dp/B000BNC9DM/ref=sr_1_4?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1426268364&sr=1-4&keywords=oball"></a> Value $9.
<p>The Mommy Hook was an interesting add. I'm excited to try this out and think I may really like it, although I doubt I'd have purchased it for myself.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcdX9t0czeDV_TC4lpzjvERxoSC8J_WFHUglzOK1FEkNg0TxZ0Ty1SAsOZCrcjp7ppTUfjM1PIzlz6E31Fbhe4a-9yVQj_YudqFTEn4aFk847XkF4ePPfBLZMTLPfCAqmMxG42vG3tgXBI/s1600/IMG_9940.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcdX9t0czeDV_TC4lpzjvERxoSC8J_WFHUglzOK1FEkNg0TxZ0Ty1SAsOZCrcjp7ppTUfjM1PIzlz6E31Fbhe4a-9yVQj_YudqFTEn4aFk847XkF4ePPfBLZMTLPfCAqmMxG42vG3tgXBI/s320/IMG_9940.JPG" /></a></div>
Value $7. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Mommy-Hook-Silver-Black-Pad/dp/B004WN7AH2/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1426268981&sr=1-1&keywords=The+mommy+hook"></a>
<p>We love books and reading, so my son and I were thrilled to see "Little Pea" included in the box:
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg23VgMe9YXoODQv2m-fa-gW2kBREWK4-u2-HycoZe2ZRTNBPSZIYY3Erftf_mkzcwS4dwJyMC7NKiyyEPJ6LJCGjAI2QFSgV01VOK5AtGMnDL3wJlePsri-mwxYJ74FPLe_VjKPdLYg7zs/s1600/IMG_9941.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg23VgMe9YXoODQv2m-fa-gW2kBREWK4-u2-HycoZe2ZRTNBPSZIYY3Erftf_mkzcwS4dwJyMC7NKiyyEPJ6LJCGjAI2QFSgV01VOK5AtGMnDL3wJlePsri-mwxYJ74FPLe_VjKPdLYg7zs/s320/IMG_9941.JPG" /></a></div>
After seeing the book, my son wanted to read it immediately. I'm a little disappointed in the condition of the book. It is a board book and appears to have been used previously. Additionally, one of the pages shows "fig. 1", "fig. 2", etc. under the pictures making me question if it was some sort of proof copy?? <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Little-Pea-Amy-Krouse-Rosenthal/dp/1452142890/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1426269281&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=Little+Pea+board+book"></a> Value $6.
<p>Finally, we received an Ahh Goo Baby magnetic bib:

A cute bib with a magnetic closure. Not sold on Amazon. <a href="https://11main.com/ahgoobabys1486/the-bib/p/2291562?ref=DF4rcI_udU6GfakKSQwtHg&kpid=B-LA-SPA-12&cid=cse_gg_baby-%26-kids__%5Bpla%5D-%28bk%29_54280629035&utm_source=gg&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=_&utm_content=11_main&utm_campaign=[pla]-(bk)&ref=DF4rcI_udU6GfakKSQwtHg&kpid=B-LA-SPA-12"></a> Value $9.75.
<p>Unfortunately, the spoiler item for this Mystery Box the Tiny Love Mini Mobile was not included. We paid $29 + $5 shipping for the box and received a value of $39.15. Per Citrus Lane's website, the Mystery Boxes contain a value of at least $60, so I'm not impressed.
<p>UPDATE! I called Citrus Lane about my issues with this box and was told a full replacement box was being shipped to me. I have read many horror stories about Citrus Lane customer service, but I have had great experiences each time I have had an issue. This newer box offered by Walmart ships a box to match your stage in pregnancy or the early stages of motherhood. Since I'm due with our second child in May, I ordered the 2nd Trimester box. The box is not huge, but not tiny either.

A clutch containing a Pampers diaper and sample pack of wipes. While the thought is cute and it may be useful to some, I don't think this is a useful item. As the mother of a toddler I can honestly say the less to carry for a diaper change, the better. This clutch doesn't fold out into a changing pad, so you'll still need your diaper bag or at least a changing pad.

A sample of Aquaphor. While I think they're the same thing, I'm not sure why the Baby version of this product wasn't included in the baby box.

My overall impression of this box is it is definitely not worth it. Every item included in the box is provided in either doctor's office or baby registry sample bags FOR FREE. I am not going to cancel my subscription just yet as I'd like to see if anyone receiving any of the other boxes has any better luck, but I'm fairly sure I won't be continuing my subscription.
<p>Did you receive another version of the box? Do you feel differently about the contents? I'd love to hear your thoughts!Noah's Mommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17040453969637423272noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019470247311438236.post-41849486445360869692013-07-20T12:20:00.001-07:002013-07-20T12:21:26.967-07:00Citrus Lane July 2013 box review - 14 month old boyThe time has come, our last Citrus Lane box arrived and it did not disappoint. While we have received two other snack containers during our subscription, I was really glad to see this one. Since Little Man is a toddler, our other snack containers are getting too small to carry enough for him, but this new container holds THREE cups of food!! It is pretty large but can be hung on the outside of a diaper bag or a stroller, so no need to take up precious bag space! Its free from all the bad things (BPA, phaletes, etc.) Love it!! I am not as big a fan. We have a few of their toys and I'm disappointed to say they were both made in China. The farm puzzle we received is really cute but Little Man is a little too young for it. I have read many blog reviews from dissatisfied subscribers, but just couldn't pass up a box for my little guy at the great price of $10 for a one month trial. <div><br></div><div>Well...I must say I agree with all those reviews. The box was just...meh. I aged up little guy to 19 months and received a box with a "Let's make friends" theme. The cute pink box arrived promptly after I received my shipment confirmation and tracking number. Inside the box, things were just sort of thrown in (no pretty tissue paper ala Citrus Lane). <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmDFO02L5FLlR73aRUlqLKwRu6YaD8SOCB2BE8CNHVB2fgG_YDZrO-9JbdZ5FGVvB5Xhn__bbdtnKS0VSd56elfsYSnsoROHlNTx8hE0qxEOXHlBGBB3r1WGCdIdPcQCkt1nC71vrkfLmy/s640/blogger-image--240530843.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmDFO02L5FLlR73aRUlqLKwRu6YaD8SOCB2BE8CNHVB2fgG_YDZrO-9JbdZ5FGVvB5Xhn__bbdtnKS0VSd56elfsYSnsoROHlNTx8hE0qxEOXHlBGBB3r1WGCdIdPcQCkt1nC71vrkfLmy/s640/blogger-image--240530843.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-HJaxkgdg_ghX2CTq-WtQsW9a_1Fjh1g9Q4czAh9rOTgJLQLrbzeEX_epX-zyH-gdfCdHElU-eI0kxk-m2Wp4fCjaB8GYekIHuNuYrN5yCmJSOGkcwwXc_C2MvzYPmUMajOlYWsYqmK7-/s640/blogger-image-562922445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-HJaxkgdg_ghX2CTq-WtQsW9a_1Fjh1g9Q4czAh9rOTgJLQLrbzeEX_epX-zyH-gdfCdHElU-eI0kxk-m2Wp4fCjaB8GYekIHuNuYrN5yCmJSOGkcwwXc_C2MvzYPmUMajOlYWsYqmK7-/s640/blogger-image-562922445.jpg"></a></div><br></div> I decided to review this box, not for my discounted trial price, but for the actual subscription cost of $24.95/mo because that would be my renewal cost. </div><div><br></div><div>A cute card providing the month's theme was placed on top of the box. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyDGppMSPqyNK-4aJSSrn1lpqLEcyy0j3V6LUeBV8ZtGjwyeoCYojglx7dDURP_aifMKoZl68OPJp3fMCJiMygFoNGTafoShcEC42xa6el46cIhL-kO3RSSXwExtGprRgFaaAOAqVijw3U/s640/blogger-image--730120722.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyDGppMSPqyNK-4aJSSrn1lpqLEcyy0j3V6LUeBV8ZtGjwyeoCYojglx7dDURP_aifMKoZl68OPJp3fMCJiMygFoNGTafoShcEC42xa6el46cIhL-kO3RSSXwExtGprRgFaaAOAqVijw3U/s640/blogger-image--730120722.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I actually really like the theme idea. Place the diced onion in the heated oil and cook until onion is soft. Next, add all your spices (this is my favorite part because it smells soooo good!!) and mix with cooked onion for a few minutes. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Once boiling point has been reached, simmer uncovered for at least an hour. The sauce should thicken considerably. Cook up a box of your favorite spaghetti noodles and top with your Cincinnati chili!! If you are not vegan, this is delicious topped with your favorite sharp cheddar, BUT trust me, we don't miss the cheese at all in our vegan household. </div><div><br></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi70GSiqG8j_miE3GfvGLvrqQG0VDpOl2ebxHxgHm0Y5gCf6wOGGDKiUmUyY2s8gTjr74xkhJVWKbh9o9CwIi_UAxoXQlQ3X-vXUywghmV7Biyz3z9tkLvPYmCJbit2tGwZHmrKJbQBi3sT/s640/blogger-image-176205931.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi70GSiqG8j_miE3GfvGLvrqQG0VDpOl2ebxHxgHm0Y5gCf6wOGGDKiUmUyY2s8gTjr74xkhJVWKbh9o9CwIi_UAxoXQlQ3X-vXUywghmV7Biyz3z9tkLvPYmCJbit2tGwZHmrKJbQBi3sT/s640/blogger-image-176205931.jpg"></a></div>Noah's Mommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17040453969637423272noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019470247311438236.post-47248200864526032572013-05-02T10:41:00.002-07:002013-05-02T10:55:00.362-07:00Girl Gone VeganI'd entertained the idea of being vegan for nearly as many years as I'd been vegetarian (20 years!). I could never commit to the change in fashion (goodbye purses and shoes), giving up sweet treats and what is life like without my beloved cheese?!? Everything changed over the course of last year. My son was born with a terrible milk allergy. I had two options, I could give up dairy or stop nursing him. Goodbye dairy. I had no idea what to eat or how to plan meals. Thankfully during my many sleepless nights I came across <a href="http://getvegucated.com"></a>. Vegucated is a wonderful documentary about three New Yorkers and a vegan challenge. The creator of this documentary has a fabulous website full of recipes, resources and support YumUniverse.com <a href="http://http://www.yumuniverse.com/"></a>. I loved Vegucated so much, I searched and found a bounty of recipes to try out on my husband and toddler. What once was a temporary change has become much more permanent. We are all feeling more energized, losing weight without trying and enjoying every bite along the way. Check back for reviews of recipes we've tried and new ones we've created. Not every box is filled with items to my liking, however, so many have new products my little guy has grown to love and their customer service is outstanding. <br />
<br />
This month's box arrived on my son's first birthday, so it was like a bonus gift. <br />
<br />
The first item we noticed was the full size shampoo and body wash from the Honest Company. This is a product we already use and love. The wash has a dreamsickle like scent that leaves my little man smelling wonderful. The no tears formula has never bothered his eyes or his skin. We love this stuff!!<br />
<br />
Next we received a slide and seek toy from Melissa and Doug. A huge hit with my son. <br />
<br />
Also included were two super cute snack containers from InnoBaby. I'm sure these will be put to good use as travel containers for puffs and Cheerios. <br />
<br />
Finally, we received a Oogaa placemat. It is pretty cute and the perfect size for the little guy's highchair tray. <br />
<br />
I highly recommend Citrus Lane. It is a fun way to find out about cool useful things for your kiddo. And honestly, who doesn't love receiving a surprise in the mail each month?<br />
<br />
***Pardon the box photo - once little man sees the Citrus Lane box, he wants it open and plays with everything inside! Citrus Lane items are packaged beautifully when the box is first opened!***<br />
<br />
If you are interested, please use the link below to receive $10 off your first box. Enjoy!!<br />

There seems to be a monthly subscription box for everything these day...including boxes. I reign in my desire to have one of each sent to me the best I can, but sometimes there are deals you just can't pass up. I heard about the Wittlebee children's clothing on a blog about boxes and was anxious to try it out. Who wouldn't want to receive a box of super cute clothing for their kiddo? As soon as I received a 50% off coupon code, I signed up. I paid $23 (including shipping) and was told my box value would be at least $100. I answered questions about little man, the types (swimwear, pjs, shorts, etc) and colors i would prefer. After signing up, I received an email stating that my showroom would soon be open. The showroom provides box subscribers the opportunity to select three of the six items included in their box. We selected a pair of karate pants from American Apparel, a long sleeve shirt from Rabbit Moon and a button down shirt from Toby (we has never heard of this brand). We patiently waited and our box finally arrived on April 8th. In addition to our selections from the showroom, we received a Kate Quinn Organics pants and hoodie outfit and a Threadless brand t-shirt. I attempted to find each received item online to approximate our value received, but could not locate most of the items. Hubs and I feel the value was pretty good for the $23 we spent, but we would have been disappointed had we spent the regular box price of $36 + s&h. Wittlebee is awesome in concept, but I honestly feel you'd do better shopping sales online or in your local mall where you can be sure the items will fit your child and reflect your style. One great perk of Wittlebee membership is being eligible for Wittlebee's almost daily Instagram sales. From what I've observed, mostly girls' clothing is offered, but it is super cute and the prices are amazing! We just snatched up two OP brand t-shirts for $6 - shipping included!! Wittlebee also has mystery grab bags fairly regularly and seem like they could be fun to try at least once. Hubs and I will very likely cancel this box as we have a certain style and would prefer to hand select clothes, but it is a really fun box to try. If you would like to try it out for your kiddo, you can use this link and save $10 off of your first box. <br />

Mayme shaped who I am today and for years each time I heard the song "Who I Am", I'd sing "I am Mayme's granddaughter, the spitting image of no one in my family ( this is true, but oddly enough I look like my in laws) and when the day is done my poodle's still my biggest fan. I'm clueless and I'm clumsy, but I got friends that love me. That's who I am". Mayme was an absolutely amazing woman. She truly could do it all. Pulled from high school to support her family, she learned to cook, sew and garden early on. She was ferociously dedicated to her family, taking in her niece when her beloved sister was ill, assisting her sister in law when her brother passed away early and unexpectedly and making sure her other brother was well cared for after his wife died of Alzheimer's. Oh, and then there was me. She took my mother and I in, when my father left shortly after I was born. I left my role as a CPA in corporate America after the birth of my son nearly a year ago. This blog will be my ramblings on transitioning from my suits to sweatpants and how I try daily to live up to the amazing woman Mayme was.Noah's Mommahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17040453969637423272noreply@blogger.com1
